Arrive in Beijing, capital city of China. You will be met by our Asia Journeys' local guide and escorted to your hotel.

3 |
Beijing (AB, L, D)
After breakfast, we start our tour to China visiting the world's largest public square - Tiananmen Square. Then, proceed to The Forbidden City, the palace home for the Ming and Qing Dynasty Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven, where emperors came to pray for a good harvest. After dinner, enjoy an Acrobatics Show or the amazing, "The Legend of Kung Fu" show. |

Beijing - Xi'an (AB, L, D)
Today's highlights include an excursion to the Great Wall, an astonishing feat of engineering and one of the World Heritages listed by UNESCO. We then visit the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. A stop will be made for you to take pictures of The Bird's Nest, also known as "The National Stadium" and the National Aquatics Center, also known as the "Water Cube". Enjoy a walk along Wang Fu Jing Street and for dinner enjoy a welcome banquet featuring a traditional "Beijing Roast Duck" dinner before boarding an overnight
speed train to Xi'an with "soft berth" accommodations.

Xi'an (AB, L, SD)
Upon arrival in Xi'an, an historic city, which has been the capital for 13 of China's imperial dynasties, you will met by Asia Journeys' local guide and transferred to your hotel to freshen up. Later, proceed to the archeological museum to visit the life-size Terra-Cotta warriors and horses which guarded the emperor's burial site for over 2,000 years. Continue to visit the Ancient City Wall and later visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, which had become the emblem of Xi'an City, built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty. Dinner tonight is an Imperial Dumpling Banquet. Later attend a "Tang Dynasty show", which performs the original music and dancing of the Tang Dynasty.

Xi'an - Chongqing (AB, L, D)
This morning take a city tour to the Shaanxi Provincial Museum. Board your flight to Chongqing after lunch. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred for a dinner before boarding the 5* Century Sky for an awe-inspiring Yangtze River cruise later in the evening. |

Cruising the Yangtze River (AB, L, D)
Today's shore excursion is to the Fengdu Snow Jade Cave, a newly discovered cave rated as the most beautiful in China by National Geographic. It is a cave full of snow and jade-like stalactites and stalagmites. After the shore excursion, there are
various cultural programs you may attend on board. |

Cruising the Yangtze River (AB, L, D)
This morning you'll pass through the first two Gorges, the Qutang Gorge and the Wu Gorge. Then take an excursion down Shennong Stream, a small gorge on small boats winding through primitive waters. Then enter Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. In the evening, sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship lock. |

9 |
Disembark at Yichang - Shanghai (AB, L, D)
This morning visit the Three Gorges Dam, the largest project of its kind in the world. Disembark your cruise ship at Yichang. After lunch, board your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be met by your Asia Journeys' local guide and visit the Bund on the western shore of the Huangpu River.

| Today's sightseeing starts at the Shanghai Museum which houses 120,000 cultural artifacts. The highlights of this exhibit include bronze ware, pottery porcelain ware, paintings and invaluable calligraphy works. Continue to the Jade Buddha Temple and the Yu Garden. Next visit Nanjing Road where you will have time for shopping. |
