Arrive in Beijing, capital city of China. You will be met by our Asia Journeys' local representative and escorted to your hotel. Accommodations at the Beijing Doubletree By Hilton Hotel (5*) or similar. |

Beijing (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we start our tour to China visiting the world's largest public square - Tiananmen Square. Then, proceed to The Forbidden City, the palace home of the Ming and Qing Dynasty Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, Enjoy an afternoon visit to a pearl factory where you will learn about the farming and cultivating of pearls in China, followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven, where China's emperors came to pray for a good harvest. After dinner, enjoy an Acrobatics Show or the amazing show, "The Legend of Kung Fu". |

Beijing (B, L, SD)
Today's highlights include an excursion to the Great Wall, an astonishing feat of engineering. On the way, stop to learn about the different qualities and grades of jade, the most popular stone of China. We then visit the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. A stop will be also be made for you to take pictures at The Bird's Nest, and the "Water Cube" ,venues for the recent Beijing Olympics. Enjoy a walk along Wang Fu Jing Street and for dinner enjoy a welcome banquet featuring a traditional "Beijing Roast Duck" dinner. |

Beijing - Xi'an (B, L, SD)
Take a morning flight to Xi'an. Proceed to the world famous archeological museum to visit life-size Terracotta Warriors and horses which guarded the emperor's burial site for over 2,000 years. Continue to the Ancient City Wall. Next visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, which had become the emblem of Xian City, during the Tang Dynasty. Dinner tonight is an Imperial Dumpling Banquet. Later attend a "Tang Dynasty show", performing the original music and dancing of the Tang Dynasty. Accommodations at the Grand New World Hotel (4*) or similar. |

Xi'an - Chongqing (B, L, D)
This morning take a city tour to the Shaanxi Provincial Museum before boarding your flight to Chongqing. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred for dinner. After your dinner, board The 5* Century Sky for your awe-inspiring Yangtze River cruise in the evening. |

Cruising the Yangtze River (B, L, D)
Today your shore excursion is to the Fengdu Snow Jade Cave, a newly discovered cave rated as the most beautiful in China. It is a cave full of snow and jade-like stalactites and stalagmites. After the shore excursion, there are various optional cultural programs you may attend. |

Cruising the Yangtze River (B, L, D)
Sail through the first two large Gorges – Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Then take an excursion through the much smaller Shennong Stream, where you will hop on a small rowboat and wind through a smaller narrow gorge. Then enter Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three major Gorges. In the evening, sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship lock. |

Disembark Jingzhou - Yichang - Shanghai (B, L)
This morning, your excursion is to visit the Three Gorges Dam, the largest project of its kind in the world. Say goodbye to your cruise ship at Yichang and after lunch, board your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be met by your local guide and visit the Bund for a walk along the the western shore of the Huangpu River. Then see China's most famous shopping street, Nanjing Road, which starts at the Bund in the east and ends at the junction of Jing'an Temple and Yan'an West Road in the west. Dinner is on your own.

| Enjoy a city tour to the Shanghai Museum, which houses 120,000 cultural artifacts, The Yu Garden, a famous classical garden located in Shanghai's colorful and bustling Old Town and the exciting Old Shanghai Bazaar. This is followed by a presentation at a silk carpet factory where you will learn the delicate procedure and production of Chinese silk carpets. Later visit one of Shanghai's most famous sights the Jade Buddha Temple built in 1882, famed for its rare cultural relics, and porcelain artworks carved with whole white jade. |
