Yangon (B, L, D)
Start your visit to Myanmar with a tour of Chinatown for an insight into the every day life of the local people followed by a visit to the 2000-year old Sule Pagoda Temple and the Chauk Htat Gyi Reclining Buddha. This evening, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon's most famous landmark, its guttering gilded golden stupa could be seen from miles away.

Yangon - Bagan (B, L, D)
Today we fly to Bagan, experience the untouched beauty of this country. In 442 BC, a great earthquake roared through central Myanmar and from out of the barren Myingyan plains rose Mount Popa. The early evening will be spent on a relaxing river cruise along the Irrawaddy River. |

Bagan (B, L, D)
Today we travel by horse cart to the Ywa Haunggyi Temple to see the sunrise. We then visit the Shwezigon Pagoda and Gubyaukgyi Pagoda, with its wall paintings depicting scenes from the previous lives of Buddha. Continue to visit a local lacquerware store before ending the day watching the sunset seen from the Mingalazedu Pagoda. |

Bagan - Mandalay (B, L, D)
In the morning, fly to Mandalay. On arrival, transfer to Amarpaura, situated about 11 km south of Mandalay, one of the capitals of the third Myanmar Empire. Visit the Mahagandayone Monastery to gain an insight into the life and culture of the Burmese, as every male in the Burmese culture is a monk at one point of time in his life. Also visit one of Mandalay's silk weaving factories. After checking-in at your hotel, the rest of the afternoon will be a visit to the Mahamuni Pagoda. To the Buddhists in Myanmar, this richly gilded Maha Muni image is not a mere representation of the Lord Buddha, but is an icon, which is regarded as sacred. As evening approaches, visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to the world's largest book. A drive to the top of Mandalay Hill will give you a beautiful view of the sunset over Mandalay. |

Mandalay - Heho (B, L, D)
Fly to Heho. On arrival proceed to Pindaya, famous for its caves in which thousands of Buddha images have been placed or carved over many years. The true culture and tradition of Myanmar can be found in Shan State. Visit a traditional paper & umbrella making home, then proceed to Kalaw, home to a charming, serene hill station surrounded by mountains. Kalaw was a favorite retreat for the British in summer time, as the cool climate provides a welcome break from the summer heat. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll around this beautiful city. |

Kalaw - Inle Lake (B, L, D)
Drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to Inle Lake. Board a chartered boat and spend a day on the lake with its serenity and beauty. The first stop will be
a village where a 5-day market is held. A leisurely stroll can be taken around the market to get a feel for the atmosphere. Then proceed to Nampan Village where locals make cigars and also boats that can be seen sailing on the lake. Continue to the silk weaving village and see how intricate is the design and manufacture of silk products. After lunch visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda followed by a visit to the Ngaphechaung Monastery, famous for the monks who have trained cats to jump through hoops. The monastery is now better known as the Jumping Cat monastery. |

Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon (B, L, D)
Morning canoe ride to visit the floating farms and houses. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and in the afternoon, drive to Heho for your flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer to your hotel where you will have some refreshments. In the evening, enjoy the beautiful sunset at the Botataung Pagoda. |

This morning, go shopping in Scott Market, the sprawling, 70 year old market located in the center of Yangon. It has the largest selection of Burmese handicrafts that you will find in one location. After lunch, you can enjoy some leisure time to take a walk or simply relax before transferring to the airport for your departure flight to the USA or to another destination in Asia. |

1 |
Bagan - Cruising on the Irrawaddy (B, L, D)
Today we transfer to Bagan jetty to join the RV Pandaw. The Pandaw is a refitted river cruiser that originally sailed the Irrawaddy in the 40's. The Irrawaddy flotilla has recreated the Pandaw legend and offer luxurious cruises between Bagan and Mandalay. After setting sail from Bagan visit a typical Upper Burmese market town. Visit the large and bustling market, a cigar factory and hand weaving workshops. The tour will be run in a local bus (not air-conditioned) which is a fun way of seeing the real life of this busy place and then travel outside the town to the little know archaeological site of Pakhangyi. This post-Bagan period provincial capital was walled with a moat and originally had a governor's palace. Visit the museum and a spectacular 19th century wood carved monastery. Dinner and entertainment will be provided on board.

Cruising on the Irrawaddy (B, L, D)
Spend time relaxing on board the Pandaw as it sails down the Irrawaddy. After lunch, commence a tour of Mandalay visiting the first the Maha Muni Pagoda after which, continue to Shwe Kyaung (Golden Palace Monastery) famous for its wood carvings. Next visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda known for the largest book in the world. Dinner and entertainment will be provided on board the cruise.

Arrive Mandalay (B)
Following your relaxing cruise down the Irrawaddy, arrive in Mandalay mid morning. After disembarking from the Pandaw, transfer to Mandalay city.
