Upon arrival at Urumqi, the capital of the largest province, Xinjiang, you will be met by our local guide and escorted to your hotel. |

Urumqi (AB, L, D)
The full day excursion includes a visit to the Southern Pasture, located in the beautiful valley of Southern Mountain. This afternoon, pay a visit to some traditional Kazakh Yurts and a local Kazakh family.

3 |
Urumqi - Turpan (AB, L, D)
In the morning, we drive to our journey across the dry basin area to the oasis town of Turpan. Proceed to visit the Jiaohe, one of the world's architectural wonders hides in Yarnaz Valley, 10 Kilometers (6.2 miles) west of Turpan. Your tour continues to Flaming Mountain and Grape Valley. An entire area filled with juicy sweet green grapes. Visit the ancient Karez Water System which was built during the Qing Dynasty and is considered one of the 3 greatest projects in China. The other two are the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. |

Turpan - Dunhuang (AB, L, D)
Tour the Ancient City of Gaochang, built in the first century B.C., which was the key hub for economy and culture exchange along the ancient Silk Road. We also visit the Bezkelik Thousand Buddha Caves and the Astana Ancient Tombs before board your overnight train to Dunhuang. |

Dunhuang (AB, L, D)
Upon arrival in Dunhuang, the most famous for being an ancient town that was an important stop-over point on the Silk Road. Today, it is and oasis on the eastern edge of the Taklimakan Desert in Gansu Province, northwest China. After we will visit the Crescent Moon Spring, an oasis in the Gobi Desert, lies 6 Km south of Dunhuang and is located between two large sand dunes that make up the famous Echoing Sand Dune. The spring's crescent moon shape gives it its name, and the pool is able to withstand the extreme dryness of Gobi, refusing to dry up. Enjoy a camel ride into the dunes. |

Dunhuang (AB, L, D)
Today, we will proceed to Mogao Grottoes, constructed over a millennium, from the 4th to the 14th centuries, the caves hold the world's richest treasure house of Buddhist sutras, murals and sculptures. The carvings in the Mogao Grottoes, commonly known as the Thousand Buddha Caves, were begun in A.D. 366 and continued through a dozen dynasties. The caves preserved more than 2,000 color statues and 45,000 square meters of murals, which depict portraits of the Buddha, stories and interpretations of Buddhist scriptures, Buddhist history, legends, portraits of devotees, and various decorative patterns. After lunch, we visit to the White Horse Dagoba. The dagoba has 9 stories, is 12 meters (39.4 feet) in height with an octagonal foundation. Continue to visit the Dunhuang Museum. |
