Hometown to Beijing
Today you’ll depart from your hometown to Beijing on Cathay Pacific.

2 |
Day 02 Beijing (L, D)
Arrive in Beijing, capital city of China. You will be met by our Asia Journeys’ local representative and escorted to your hotel. After lunch you’ll visit the Temple of Heaven. |

3 |
Beijing (AB, L, D)
After breakfast, we start our tour to China visiting the world? largest public square - Tiananmen Square. Then, proceed to The Forbidden City, the palace home for the Ming and Qing Dynasty Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, we visit the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. |

Beijing - Xi’an (AB, L, D)
Today’s highlights include an excursion to the Great Wall, an astonishing feat of engineering and one of the World Heritages listed by UNESCO. A stop will be made for you to take pictures of The Bird’s Nest, also known as “The National Stadium” and the National Aquatics Center, also known as the “Water Cube”. Enjoy a walk along Wang Fu Jing Street and enjoy a welcome banquet featuring a traditional “Beijing Roast Duck” dinner before boarding an overnight speed train to Xi’an. |

Xi’an (AB, L, D)
Upon arrival in Xi’an, an historic city, which has been the capital for 13 of China’s imperial dynasties, you will met by Asia Journeys' local guide and transferred to your hotel to freshen up. After breakfast, visit the Ancient City Wall. Proceed to the archeological museum to visit life-size Terra-Cotta warriors and horses which guarded the emperor’s burial site for over 2,000 years and the Shaanxi Provincial Museum. Dinner tonight is an Imperial Dumpling Banquet. After dinner attend a “Tang Dynasty show”, performing the original music and dancing of the Tang Dynasty. |

Xi’an - Chengdu (AB, L, D)
This morning we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which had become the emblem of Xi'an city, built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty. After lunch, transfer to the airport for a flight to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Upon arrival, visit a typical Chengdu-style tea house where you will learn about Chinese tea, while drinking with the locals. In the evening, enjoy a performance of the Sichuan Opera with many incredible acts and unique music. |

Day 07 Chengdu (AB, L, D)
Early this morning visit the Panda Breeding Center. The pandas are active in the morning and you will have the option to donate money to the center, in exchange for holding a baby panda for pictures. Next drive to Sanxingdui, to see a mysterious 5,000 years old civilization recently unearthed that defies description. We then visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation Dam, the oldest irrigation system in China at around 2000 years old and still in use today. A UNESCO World Heritage site. |

Chengdu - Chongqing (AB, L, D)
This morning is free. After lunch, drive about 3 hours to Chongqing. Stop for dinner before boarding your 5* cruise ship the Century Sky for your awe-inspiring Yangtze River cruise in the evening. |

Yangtze River Cruise (AB, L, D)
Today our shore excursion is to the Fengdu Snow Jade Cave, a newly discovered cave rated as the most beautiful in China by National Geographic. It is a cave full of snow and jade-like stalactites and stalagmites. After the shore excursion, there are various cultural programs you may attend on board. |

Yangtze River Cruise (AB, L, D)
This morning you’ll pass through the first two Gorges, the Qutang Gorge and the Wu Gorge. Then take an excursion down Shennong Stream, a small gorge on small boats winding through primitive waters. Then enter Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. In the evening, sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship lock. |

Yichang - Shanghai (AB, L, D)
This morning excursion is to the Three Gorges Dam, the largest project of its kind in the world. Disembark your cruise ship at Yichang. After lunch you’ll take a flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be met by your Asia Journeys’ local guide and visit the Bund. |

Shanghai (AB, L)
Your sightseeing starts at the Shanghai Museum which houses 120,000 cultural artifacts. The highlights of this exhibit include bronze ware, pottery porcelain ware, paintings and invaluable calligraphy works. Continue to the Jade Buddha Temple, the Yu Garden and Nanjing Road. Today dinner is on your own. |
